Dog boarding kennels, dog boarding kennels review, local boarding kennels, we tell you about dog boarding kennels, dog boarding.

Dog boarding kennels vary a lot so you should try and visit the kennels beforehand if possible or at least have a good look at the pictures of the kennels online and look at any reviews or recommendations that you can find, ideally the kennels should be at 5ft-6ft wide so the dog can move around, bright with natural daylight with a run attached and not overcrowded, hygienic and with a vet on call.

You should allow lots of time to get your dog to the kennels because if you are stressed on the journey then your dog will pick up on it and get stressed as well, remember to take the dogs vaccination certificate and any medicines that the dog will need and take any special food that your dog is used to, don’t wash your dogs bed before you take it with you (you’d be surprised how many people do just this and it defeats the whole point of taking the dogs bed), a good tip is to take an old woolen jumper of yours unwashed to leave with your dog, it can have a calming influence on your dog.

Your dog will pick up on your mood so try and look on it as a good thing, an adventure that your dog will enjoy, in a good boarding kennels the staff will have time to get to know your dog and make friends so that the dog will enjoy the stay and look upon it as a holiday rather than a sentence for doing something wrong, also they should put noisy and disruptive dogs at the ends of the kennels to avoid disturbing the more well behaved dogs.
