If you can’t stand the thought of being parted from your dog then the answer is to take your holiday in the UK and take your dog with you, after all dogs need a holiday as well don’t they? and now there are lots of pet friendly hotels that cater for dogs, although they all differ greatly in amenities and restrictions.

One way to take a UK holiday with your dog is to rent a cottage, many cottage owners will let you take your dog with you and as it is normally remote with a large garden there will be plenty of space for walks and just running about but remember to take your dogs bed and bedding with you plus food and you will probably have to use a lead at times when you are out and about.

With pet friendly hotels that take dogs you will normally find that the owners have dogs of their own that are used to making friends with the dogs that come to stay for a short time, some hotels will even give you a welcome pack for your dog that will map out the best doggie walks in the area, they can also provide towels for drying your dog and dog food if you run short or forget to bring your own, in many hotels dogs must be kept on a lead in the common areas but that’s not true for all hotels because some will let your dog into all areas except of course the dining room and kitchen.
